Foxboro Youth Lacrosse (FYL) was founded in 2003 by a half dozen or so volunteers passionate about the game. Our first season, we offered a boys youth program with U11, U13 and U15 teams. The following season, we opened up the program to girls. Most recently, we added a 1st / 2nd grade boys division. 2010 will mark our eighth season serving over 220 young players!
Recognizing the incredible growth of lacrosse (today it is the fastest growing youth sport in America) and the desire of high school athletes to play the game, the Foxboro high school established a lacrosse club team in 2004. The team became an official varsity team in 2005. That first year, the team did not win a single game; however, by the 2008 season, not only did the varsity team have a winning record, the team was selected to the first round of the state tournament! This year, Varsity Coach Noone is again expecting his team to be highly competative in the Hockomock League.
